The attraction of Peranakan food has a lively mix of cultures and influences. Nyonya or Peranakan cuisine is a fine hybrid of Chinese and Malay flavours using an abundance of herbs & spices, ingredients and techniques from both cultures.
Our role is to preserve the authentic recipes of the Peranakan culture inherited through generations and to bring you fond memories of food from your childhood yet pushing new boundaries.
The name ‘Herba and Rempah’ is used to signify the importance of mixing healthy compounds of herbs & spices to create delicious meals.

The Beef Rendang is to die for, so flavourful with plain rice or bread. We love every single bite. Best Beef Rendang in town! The Sambal Ikan Masin is great with stir fried vegetables or any time I need a kick to my food. Totally MUST HAVE!!

The taste of this Jiu Hu CHar dish brings back vivid memories of my growing up years during festive season. Love the unique taste of the cuttlefish which makes this dish so special. Simply delicious.

This Sambal Petai Hae Bee dish cannot be easily found in any restaurant. It is a rare dish. I’m a true blue Penangite who knows how to appreciate this dish! I’m so blessed to find it here in Herba & Rempah. I enjoyed it with nasi lemak, pulut kunyit, noodles, toast bread, etc. I can’t stop eating it! Too good!
